PHOTO-REPORT: Behind-The-Scenes Look at Future Site of Penguin Trek Coaster at SeaWorld (PART 1)
Yesterday afternoon, members of the media were invited to take a peek behind the walls concealing the future site of Penguin Trek, an all-new family-friendly roller coaster that will soon open in the Antarctica area of SeaWorld Orlando. This new attraction promises to bring something new for families to enjoy together, as the coaster will feature a 42" height requirement (one of the lowest in the park).
Let's begin by first taking a look around the area surrounding the roller coaster, as multiple changes are also coming to the Antarctica area, including a new retail location, an expanded outdoor seating area, a new bar, and more:
Our first stop is the new shop that will be located at the exit of Penguin Trek. This is an entirely new building:
The nearby Glacial Connections shop will remain. It is currently closed along with the rest of the area:
The attraction's entrance is currently being reimagined. Guests who do not wish to ride the new roller coaster will be able to bypass the attraction and go directly to the penguin exhibit:
Expedition Cafe will reopen with an expanded outdoor seating area. A new bar will also debut nearby:
The Coke Freestyle machines that were in this area will be moved to another location:
SeaWorld displayed the site plans showing the building housing the attraction and the layout of the coaster:
Here's the first launch section of the coaster (seen below):
A fence is being installed right next to this portion of the roller coaster:
The hill seen in the photos below separates the new ride from the nearby Sea Lion & Otter Stadium:
The pathway connecting Antarctica to Pacific Point Preserve is still under construction:
