Straws & Lids to be Available Upon Request at Disney Resort Quick-Service Restaurants
Beginning August 21, Resort Guests dining at Quick Service Restaurants, food courts, and pool bars will notice that paper straws and plastic lids will no longer be available onstage in Guest areas (lids for hot beverages will continue to be provided for the safety of Guests and Cast Members). Straws and lids will only be available upon request.
New signage encouraging Guests to reduce their straw and lid usage will be placed in strategic locations where they would expect to find such items, including near beverage fountains, cash registers, and refreshment coolers. Signage may be added to Quick Service Restaurants, Table Service Restaurants, and bars in Theme Parks and Water Parks at a later date.
Skipping the straw and lid is a way for Guests to join the Walt Disney World Resort in working to create a healthier home for people and wildlife as the company pursues its 2030 goal of sending zero waste to landfill.
