Installation of New Interactive TVs Begins Today at Disney's Pop Century Resort
Starting today, crews will begin installing new interactive TVs in all Disney's Pop Century Resort guestrooms (interactive TVs can already be found at Deluxe Resorts and select Moderate Resorts). As this project is expected to be completed in multiple phases over the next few weeks, the rooms in Building 1 will be the first to be impacted.
Here is the letter that was placed in each room to inform Guests about the work that will be performed:
"Welcome!
Thank you for choosing Disney’s Pop Century Resort. We are delighted to share our hospitality as we take you back through the decades of the 20th century.
To ensure that we are continuing to deliver the best possible Disney experience, it is necessary for us to occasionally refresh our offerings. As part of these efforts, we are currently enhancing our Resort for your future enjoyment. Cast Members and technicians may be entering your Guest Room for a short period of time between the hours of 9:00am and 5:00pm, to upgrade the television.
We appreciate your understanding and apologize for any inconvenience. Should you have any questions or need additional assistance, our Front Desk Cast Members will be happy to assist you."
This new, interactive television system personalizes the in-room TV experience by welcoming Guests upon arrival. Guests can also enjoy streaming in their room with complimentary Disney content and connectivity for their personal device to stream their subscribed content (Disney+, Hulu, etc.). Standard channels, park hours, resort amenities, and information are also available.
Smart phones, tablets and laptops are supported to stream to the TV. Only content from Chromecast-enabled apps (mirroring is not supported) can be sent to the TV.
As a reminder, Guest credentials and Connect My Device pairings will be cleared upon each check-out. Guests will use their personal devices to log into any subscription services, so information is not stored in the system.
