PHOTOS: Balcony Refurbishment Begins at the Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel
Last week, we took some time to walk around the EPCOT Resort Area to see what's new since our last visit a few months ago. While exploring the area, we noticed that many of the balconies of the Walt Disney World Dolphin hotel currently have their railings removed as part of a refurbishment project that begun just a few weeks ago. Take a look:
The resort's iconic water feature was turned off:
The walkway on the right side of the hotel is temporarily closed:
Notice how all of the balconies in this area are missing railings:
Let's take another look at the area from the walkway connecting the Swan & Dolphin hotels to Disney's BoardWalk:
The circular section with stairs is also missing its railings:
Compare the opposide side of the resort with the portion being refurbished:
Will the design of the railings change or remain the same? We will have to wait and see what happens:
The portion of the façade facing Disney's Yacht Club resort is also affected by this refurbishment:
Work was being done on the concrete base of the balconies when we were walking by the area:
Some of the balconies still featured railings:
After a few hours, we returned to the area and found out that more railings were removed:
We will return to the area in the coming days to check on the status of this project.
