Located on the banks of Little Lake Bryan is an exclusive recreation area for Cast Members and their friends and family called Mickey’s Retreat. Opening shortly after Magic Kingdom, Mickey’s Retreat is celebrating their 50th anniversary during The World’s Most Magical Celebration.
Officially dedicated on July 2, 1972, opening day celebrations consisted of sack races, volleyball, horseshoe pitching, sailing, a fishing derby and a marshmallow roast to top off the festivities. In 1993 with the addition of a clubhouse, swimming pool and new pavilions, the Little Lake Bryan facility was renamed Mickey’s Retreat. With so much to enjoy Cast Members hosted a nine-day celebration for the grand opening of Mickey’s Retreat which included a sunset hoedown, athletic tournaments and a special movie under the stars.
There are so many fun things to do at Mickey’s Retreat like kayaking, sand volleyball, swimming, or a picnic! It truly is a relaxing place to enjoy the great outdoors and fun activities. Cast Members can reserve one of the four pavilions, enjoy annual events like the Spring Fling, or come for an afternoon of fun.
