Disney’s Art of Animation Resort Celebrates 10-Year Anniversary at Walt Disney World
It's hard to believe, but Disney’s Art of Animation Resort has been welcoming Guests for 10 years! This colorful resort made its debut on May 31, 2012 and immerses Guests in the stories of classic Disney and Disney Pixar movies including “The Little Mermaid,” “Finding Nemo,” “Cars,” and “The Lion King.”
Did you know there are 77 pages of storyboard images from the four featured films in the resort’s main chandelier? Also, this resort is home to the largest resort pool at Walt Disney World Resort – the Big Blue Pool has more than 310,000 gallons of water!
Cast Members recently visited with Ariel, Eric, and Sebastian during a Cast celebration to commemorate the resort’s 10th anniversary. Cast Members enjoyed a special lunch, took photos with character friends, and received personalized artwork during the event.
The celebration also included opening a time capsule from the resort’s first day in 2012 with special items on display for all to see. Memorabilia included photos of opening day Cast Members and opening day pins!
