Disney's BoardWalk Resort Update: Major Refurbishment Project to Begin Soon (PART 1)
Walt Disney World recently announced that Disney's BoardWalk Resort will soon receive a substantial amount of upgrades as part of a major refurbishment project scheduled to take place in phases beginning this year. While work hasn't officially started yet, we thought it would be a good idea to take a look around the resort to see how it looks now. That will give us a chance to compare the new look of the resort once it debuts.
The exterior of the resort is unlikely to receive any substantial changes:

According to Disney, the resort will receive "a charming new lobby design":
Hopefully these creepy chairs will be gone...
That said, we have to say that the lobby itself still looks great. Only the furniture may need to be replaced:
A small shop can be found near the lobby:
The Belle Vue Lounge is located on the other side of the building. This will be one of the locations that will be reimagined, as Disney stated that "light and airy touches will reinvigorate the lobby, lounge and guest rooms, carrying the seaside breeze (??) right inside:
Let's head outside:
The fitness center:
Here's the resort's arcade:
The feature pool area was recently updated as well:
Wyland Galleries is one of our favorite stores. It's always a pleasure to observe the beautiful art pieces adorning this merchandise location:
