Cedar Fair Rejects $3.4 Billion Offer from SeaWorld Entertainment, Inc.
A few weeks ago, SeaWorld Entertainment, Inc. made headlines around the country by offering $3.4 Billion in cash to purchase all the theme parks currently owned by Cedar Fair. Yesterday, SeaWorld confirmed that the offer was rejected and that Cedar Fair is currently not interested in presenting a counter-offer. On February 15, the company released the following statement:
"In response to inquiries from various stakeholders, we confirm that our offer to acquire Cedar Fair was rejected. Unfortunately, we do not see a path to a transaction."
What do you think? Would you like to see the two companies merge in the future? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments section.
