Brevard Zoo to Offer Virtual Summer Camps Via Zoom This Year
Parents looking for summer learning experiences for their family can register their children for Brevard Zoo’s new virtual camp program.
Sessions will begin on Tuesday, June 9 and run from 9 a.m. to noon over the course of three days. At-home learners can anticipate high levels of interaction through animal encounters with species such as cassowaries, sea turtles and jaguars; themed crafts; activities like scavenger hunts and guessing games; behind-the-scenes Zoo tours; and afternoon extension activities for the whole family.
“This is not your typical virtual learning experience,” said Janelle Cummins, the Zoo’s interim director of education program. “We’re taking all the fun and excitement of our in-person camps and delivering it directly to your home.”
Facilitated through the video platform Zoom, each three-day session revolves around a unique theme. The program will be offered through the beginning of August.
The cost of each camp is $75 per household. Those wishing to register or learn more can do so at www.brevardzoo.org/education/virtual-zoo-camps.
