Spaceship Earth Closing for Lengthy Refurbishment Starting May 26 at Epcot
Last year, the Walt Disney World Resort shared that Spaceship Earth would be reimagined as part of the largest evolution in Epcot’s history. Today, the company shared more details about the next steps in the attraction’s transformation.
Spaceship Earth will remain a voyage through time, with a new focus on how storytelling binds humanity together. Many of the scenes depicted will remain, reimagined in amazing new ways. New narration and an entirely new musical score will focus on the moments and ideas that define our story. Guests will follow a “story light” that brings the entire experience to life in dynamic ways, giving each scene energy and beauty that ties the entire journey together.
To get started on this work, the attraction will begin its refurbishment on May 26, 2020. All current Cast Members at Spaceship Earth will continue to have roles at the Walt Disney World Resort.

Any idea how long a lengthy refurb will be? I take it that it will be closed through July and August then?
ReplyDeleteEstimates I have heard are 2 to 3 years. This is more then a simple refurb, it is a major re-working of the ride.
