Celebrating 30 years of magic at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Disney-MGM Studios, now Disney’s Hollywood Studios, opened at Walt Disney World Resort on May 1, 1989. Over the years, the park has featured a dazzling array of attractions and entertainment, makingits mark as a place where everyone can play together and create memories to last a lifetime.

1949 – Pluto’s Sweater (Pluto cartoon) is released
1957 – The interior of Sleeping Beauty Castle is opened as a walk-through attraction
1983 – Something Wicked This Way Comes is released
1994 – The All-Star Resorts Surf’s Up unit opens at Walt Disney World Resort
1995 – Escape to Witch Mountain television movie airs on ABC
2011 – Prom is released

1928 – Ozzie of the Mounted (Oswald cartoon) is released
1948 – Bone Bandit (Pluto cartoon) is released
1958 – An Adventure in Art (television show) airs
1969 – A press event showcasing phase 1 plans for a theme park and resort hotel at Walt Disney World is held
1989 – The Disney-MGM Studios Theme Park Grand Opening (television special) airs
1989 – Just Like Family (Disney Channel series) airs
1990 – Goofy’s Office Safety Championship and Goofy’s Plant Safety Championship (educational films) are released
1994 – Astro Orbiter officially opens to Guests at Magic Kingdom Park
2017 – Disney’s Explorers Lodge, 750-room Resort hotel dedicated to the spirit of exploration, opens at Hong Kong Disneyland

2012 – Gibson Girl Ice Cream Parlour, Candy Palace and Penny Arcade reopen at Disneyland Park after an extensive refurbishment

1926 – The El Capitan Theatre opens in Los Angeles
1931 – The Moose Hunt (Mickey cartoon), featuring the first appearance of Pluto by name, debuts
1986 – The Country Bear Vacation Hoedown, a new version of the Country Bear Jamboree, opens at Magic Kingdom Park
2013 – Iron Man 3is released
