Epcot and Disney's Hollywood Studios to Be Impacted by Star Wars Half Marathon

On April 4-7, thousands of inter-galactic recruits will race for the light or dark side at the 2019 Star Wars Rival Run Weekend. During this event, select Walt Disney World offerings will be impacted. Continue reading to learn more.

Event schedule:

• Friday, April 5: Star Wars 5K
• Saturday, April 6: Star Wars 10K
• Sunday, April 7: Star Wars Half Marathon

Below are the impacts that Walt Disney World Guests can expect during this running event:

EPCOT

On Sunday, April 7:

• Epcot will open at 8:30 a.m. During this time, Test Track presented by Chevrolet and Soarin’ Around the World will be open for Guests.
• Friendship Boat Transportation to and from Disney’s Hollywood Studios will be delayed until 10 a.m. Guests can utilize bus transportation from the Epcot Resorts and Epcot.
• From approximately 5:30 – 10 a.m., Guests must utilize the following crosswalks to safely cross the race course:
• Pin Central East towards Test Track/Mission: SPACE
• Future World Bridge near Agent P’s World Showcase Adventure
• The United Kingdom pavilion

DISNEY'S HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS
On Sunday, April 7:

• Friendship boat transportation will begin at 10 a.m. Bus transportation will be available for applicable Guests.
• The restrooms located near the bus loop will be unavailable to day Guests until 9:30 a.m.
• The race course crosswalk will be located at Hollywood Junction.

Additionally, Morning Extra Magic Hours have been moved from Sunday, April 7 to Friday, April 12.

ROAD CLOSURES ON SUNDAY, APRIL 7:

• 4:30-9 a.m. – Osceola Parkway Eastbound closed from Sherberth Rd. to World Dr.
• 5-8 a.m. – Western Way closed in both directions
