Busch Gardens' 60th Anniversary Celebration Continues with Limited-Time Experiences
Festivities are going strong as Busch Gardens Tampa Bay continues to offer new opportunities for park guests to join in the 60th Anniversary Celebration. Originally opening on March 31, 1959, Busch Gardens is celebrating 60 years with 60 days of giveaways, a park-wide scavenger hunt, and a limited-time endangered species tour.
In partnership with the Gold & Diamond Source jewelry store, the park announced an online sweepstakes via social media this week. With one play per day, participants will be entered to win a grand prize $5000 gift certificate to the Gold & Diamond Source or a specialty gold and diamond tiger pendant. Each day, there are instant-win opportunities for park tickets and the Serengeti Safari experience. No purchase necessary to participate, winners will be selected after the sweepstakes ends on Friday, May 17, 2019.
Park guests are invited to take a stroll down memory lane as they embark upon an all-new scavenger hunt, honoring 60 years of Busch Gardens history. As guests arrive at the park, they can pick up their complimentary scavenger hunt guide and follow the clues to iconic moments of the past. Each location will feature a code word for guests to unlock the master code word on their sheet. Guests who finish their scavenger hunt can visit the Emporium, Xcursions, or Painted Camel gift shops to receive their complimentary 60th Anniversary Celebration button.
The park’s anniversary isn’t the only milestone this March – one of its most beloved resident animals is also celebrating a big year. The Busch Gardens zoo team is offering a special opportunity for guests to meet Jody, a critically endangered black rhinoceros, in honor of her 30th birthday this month. For one weekend only from March 29-31, guests can book the Rhino Endangered Species Tour for an up-close encounter with Jody.
In addition to the new experiences, park guests can continue to enjoy the #YearOfBeer with complimentary beer samples each day of 2019 at Serengeti Overlook Pub and Restaurant and Garden Gate Café. Also, the 5th Annual Food & Wine Festival continues each weekend through April 28, featuring more than 30 dishes and over 100 wines, craft brews and cocktails.
