Hollywood Studios Update: An Afternoon Stroll in the Park (PART 1)

Disney's Hollywood Studios is still in the middle of the most important expansion in the park's history. While the new Toy Story Land is already open to Guests, we still have so much to look forward to, including the new Disney Skyliner gondola system, a new nighttime show, at least two new indoor shows, the new Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway ride, and - of course - the new Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge land.

Let's take a quick look around the park to see what's new while we wait for the debut of these new additions:

The park felt quite busy:

Let's get closer to the Chinese Theater:

It looks like the work that was being done in this area has been completed:

As you can see, the former entrance of The Great Movie Ride has been turned into part of the extended queue:

As you can see, stanchions will be placed in the middle of the queue, meaning that this portion of the line will not be wheelchair-accessible (you can see how narrow the path will be). We are sure there will be an alternate area to accommodate Guests using wheelchairs or ECVs:

There's a very good chance that this will become the ride's main entrance:

Temporary walls are still present in the outdoor portion of the queue:

Walls also continue to block the exit of the attraction:

Work was being performed on one of the light poles located nearby:

The Frozen show will feature Olaf through the end of the year:

Star Wars: Path of the Jedi is now a seasonal attraction:

This is definitely not a big loss:

  1. Why even make that a part of the queue? It seems so odd to put in all that work just for that small section that won't even be used 90% of the time...
