Disney Officially Confirms that the New Skyliner Gondolas will NOT Feature Air Conditioning
The rumor that has been going around for months has finally been confirmed: the new Disney Skyliner Gondolas will NOT feature air conditioning. According to the Orlando Sentinel, a Walt Disney World spokesperson stated that, while the gondolas will not have AC, the cabins were “specifically tailored to provide a comfortable ride for our guests in the Florida climate.”
The article also mentions that the gondolas will use cross-ventilation to allow the air to flow inside the unit at all times, while reflective windows (similar to those used in buses, monorail trains, and other transportation systems) will prevent the cabins from getting too hot during the day.

Gotcha so, flying ovens! Sound fun.
ReplyDeleteAnd will they have medics at each station to help the guests if their "cross-ventilation system fails?!? Not sure I am going to plan to be one of the 1st few hundred riders. I will wait for reviews, and take my, at times, fully air con 30min ride to the parks.
ReplyDeleteWow we can all find out what it is like to be on a hot dog roller.
ReplyDeleteI think it is disgraceful that Disney are not providing AC in their new Gondolas. They now charge a fortune for park entry and seem to me to be totally focussed on making as much profit as possible. The crowds in the parks, even on 'quieter' days are now are becoming unbearable and as a Current AP holder will consider not renewing.
ReplyDeleteI hope people don't renew their passes due to gondolas that have yet to be running or ridden and yet making opinions based on what? their fears? that will help bring the crowds down...lol Quick note btw, Disney current projects that are in the construction phase are budgeted at over $24 Billion... Dam cheap Disney making all those profits, so disgraceful...lol
ReplyDeleteSo a winter ride
