This week:
On Sept. 7, 1984, the Morocco Pavilion in World Showcase at Epcot opened. It was the first country to be added to the World Showcase since the theme park opened in 1982. Native craftsmen were brought over to create the intricate tile work, mosaics, and carved plaster throughout the pavilion. The pavilion offers Moroccan crafts, jewelry, clothing, basket and brasswork.

2001 – The animated television series “Disney’s The Legend of Tarzan” debuts
1990 – The television series “The Challengers”’ debuts
1993 – The syndicated two-hour television special “Going Bonkers” aired
Sept. 4
1942 – “How to Play Baseball” (Goofy cartoon short) debuts
1955 – The Art Corner shop opens in Tomorrowland at Disneyland Resort
2001 – Tokyo DisneySea and Tokyo DisneySea Hotel MiraCosta officially open at Tokyo Disney Resort
2006 – Tower of Terror opens at Tokyo DisneySea

1927 – “Trolley Troubles” debuts as the first animated short featuring Oswald the Lucky Rabbit
1930 – “The Chain Gang” (Mickey Mouse cartoon short ) debuts, featuring a dog character that would eventually become Pluto
2001 – Touchstone Television (In association with CBS Productions) “The Amazing Race” debuts on CBS
1974 – The Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue dinner show opened in Pioneer Hall at Fort Wilderness at Walt Disney World

1996 – “Mighty Ducks” (animated television series) debuts in syndication
1999 – “Disney’s One Too” debuts on UPN, featuring a two-hour block of cartoons
Sept. 7

1990 – “The Magical World of Disney” airs for the final time on NBC
1995 – The syndicated television series “ Disney’s Sing Me a Story: with Belle” debuts
