BREAKING: Special Event Pavilions Near Fantasia Gardens Officially Close Today to Make Way for New Hotel
While the Walt Disney World Resort has not officially announced any details about the new hotel planned to be built next to Disney's Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf Course, the resort is getting ready to welcome this new addition by closing a special event space adjacent to the attraction.
On Tuesday, September 4, 2018 the Garden Pavilions located near the miniature golf course officially closed and will soon be demolished to make way for a new parking lot. This new parking area will certainly be needed as the current parking lot of Disney's Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf will need to close in the near future to make way for the actual hotel (which will also take over the area currently occupied by tennis courts).
The new hotel will be operated by the same company that owns the nearby Walt Disney World Swan and Walt Disney World Dolphin hotels and is rumored to be much smaller that either of these hotels.
The Walt Disney World Resort is expected to make an official announcement about this project in the coming months. The hotel is expected to officially open to Guests in 2020.

The Sorcerer's Apprentice and Dancing Hippo pavilions have been used for special events multiple times throughout the years. The building behind the pavilions housed storage areas as well as a training room for Starbucks Cast Members.
