PHOTOS: Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf Arcade Changes to Get Ready for New Hotel
Disney's Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf is a great place to visit for a couple of hours to take a break from the parks. In addition to the two miniature golf courses (the Gardens and the Fairways), this location also offered a small arcade with four games that entertained Guests as they were waiting for their turn to play golf. Just a few days ago, though, the look of this small arcade changed considerably.
As you can see, the arcade games were unplugged and a new, temporary-looking wall was installed near the middle of the room (the size of the Guest area was reduced by about 40%):
Some of the Cast Members working at the location stated that the arcade games were going to be removed soon, and that the new wall was installed to create a new storage room for miniature golf:
The rest of the room hasn't changed much:

While a number of other arcades formerly located at the Walt Disney World Resort were also removed in the past, the reason behind these changes seems to be different.
Indeed, we found out that the original storage room for Disney's Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf used to be located in the Garden Pavilions, the two large structures located on the other side of the pond.
According to recent rumors, these two pavilions will soon be removed to make way for a brand-new hotel that will be operated by the same company that owns the Walt Disney World Swan & Dolphin hotels; hence, it appears that these changes might be linked to this construction project, as the two pavilions (and the old Fantasia Gardens storage room) could be demolished before the end of the year.
While the Walt Disney World Resort has not released any details about this project, we expect to hear an official announcement very soon. We will continue to keep you updated regarding this project.
