Epcot Update: Massive New Buildings Dominate the Park's Skyline (PART 1)
Epcot's skyline is about to change dramatically over the next few months. In addition to all the new hotel buildings taking shape around the park (including Disney Riviera Resort and the Coronado Springs tower, both of which are already visible from certain areas of the park), Guests visiting Epcot are already starting to see the massive showbuildings that will soon house the new Guardians of the Galaxy roller coaster and the Ratatouille showbuilding. Let's check out the work that has been done so far in these areas as well as some of the minor changes that we noticed during our latest visit:
Spaceship Earth (NOT presented by Siemens) was down due to technical difficulties:
A little bit of rain welcomed us to the park:
Future World East:
The former Universe of Energy building is still surrounded by themed walls:
The massive gravity building that will house the new roller coaster is very, very tall:
Work on refurbishing and repainting the former Wonders of Life pavilion continues nearby:
As you can see, the nearby gravity building truly dominates the entire area:
We hope the exterior of this new structure will be themed:
Mission: SPACE was the only attraction operating on this side of the park as Test Track was down:
The attraction was closed due to inclement weather:
The Fountain of Nations:
Certain bodies of water in Future World West were almost completely dry:
This one was completely dry:
Journey Into Imagination is still... here, I guess?:
One of the screens in the first scene was down:
That's no laughingh matter, Dr. Channing!
Moving on:
This sign near the Imagination pavilion seems to be in need of some help:
The words are peeling from the sign:
Once again, notice how the new Guardians of the Galaxy showbuilding dominates the park's skyline:
