Popular Dinosaur Exhibit Closing Soon at Brevard Zoo
The dinosaurs are going extinct. Again. Dinosaurs Are Back!, a visitor-favorite Brevard Zoo exhibit packed with more than 20 lifelike, life-sized animatronic figures, is set to welcome guests for the final time on Monday, April 30.
“This is the fifth time we’ve had dinosaurs at the Zoo, but it’s a totally unique experience each go-around,” said Chris DeLorey, director of education programs at the Zoo. “The dinosaurs are bigger, more realistic and more impressive than ever before, and they’ve been updated to reflect the latest scientific findings. The adults often enjoy it even more than the kids.”
The trail culminates at the interactive Dinosaur Discovery Center, where guests can uncover a replica Tyrannosaurus skeleton and use paleontological tools to clean real dinosaur fossils collected by Zoo staff in Montana.
Dinosaurs Are Back! is presented by Toyota of Melbourne and sponsored by Twin Rivers Insurance; other sponsors include Boys Electrical Contractors, Renco, Viera Charter School, and Visual Dynamics. An upcharge of $4 applies to each guest ages three and older. More information is available at www.dinosareback.com.
