VIDEO: Brevard Zoo Returns Rehabilitated Sea Turtles to Ocean

On Wednesday afternoon, Brevard Zoo’s Sea Turtle Healing Center released subadult loggerheads Raggedy Ann and Raggedy Andy in Melbourne Beach, Florida. The turtles were found in a debilitated state at St. Lucie Nuclear Power Plant’s intake canal in October. Both were lethargic and slightly underweight with a moderate load of barnacles, algae and leeches. Zoo staff and volunteers treated the patients with rest, nutritious food and fluids.
