New Arena Opens Tomorrow at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex

The Walt Disney World Resort recently confirmed that the new Arena at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex will officially open on Friday, January 12. This new and versatile arena can easily host events both large and small and can be configured into 4 separate event spaces. The very first event taking place in this new space will be the 2018 College Cheerleading and Dance Team National Championship. A ribbon cutting ceremony will take place tomorrow at 3:45 p.m.

Highlights of the new Arena at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex:

• Separate box office entrance
• Concessions
• Up to 8,000 seats

The indoor arena is designed to accommodate performance events and multi-competition events—like cheerleading, dance, martial arts, gymnastics, volleyball, basketball, and robotics exhibits.

• Seating Capacity: 8,000
• Size – Main Floor: 50,000 square feet of continuous space; 242 feet in diameter
• Size – 2 Auxiliary Areas: 22,000 square feet of continuous space each; 139 feet x 159 feet in dimension
• Floor Type: Concrete
• Other Amenities: Built in loges and judges boxes, meeting spaces, concessions, and an attached box office
