Disney Cast Members Leave Their Mark in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge

There’s been an awakening at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Thousands of Cast Members working in different areas of the park enthusiastically put their mark on theme park history this week and observed an important milestone in the expansion of Disney's Hollywood Studios. Amid tons of concrete and steel, they signed their autographs and added their personal creativity to a support beam that will top out one of the park's new lands, the highly anticipated Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge.

The excitement was high as Cast Members and Imagineers signed their names, drew artistic pictures and wrote personal messages in English, Spanish, French, and even Aurebesh on the beam. Even a few Cast Members’ service animals had the opportunity to make their mark by signing their paw-tograph!

As a time-honored construction tradition, the beam signing celebrates the important role Disney Cast Members play in bringing to life immersive worlds such as this 14-acre remote outpost that will transport Guests to a galaxy far, far away. This event follows in the footsteps of other beam signings for expansions like Pandora – The World of Avatar, plus the Disneyland Park site of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will be opening at Disneyland Park and Disney’s Hollywood Studios in 2019. The new land is just one element of the multi-year transformation of Disney’s Hollywood Studios, which also includes Toy Story Land, set to open in the summer of 2018.
