Autism-Friendly Blue Man Group Show Returns to Universal Orlando
Blue Man Group at Universal Orlando Resort and the world’s leading autism science and advocacy organization, Autism Speaks, have teamed up to announce their third annual collaborative Blue Man Group performance on Saturday, December 9 at 6:00 p.m. The special performance will be “sensory-friendly,” creating a safe and welcoming environment for individuals and families that are affected by autism. Of course, the show will maintain its upbeat and entertaining "feel."
Slight modifications will be made to the show, including reducing sound and light levels at various moments during the performance and making headphones or earplugs available upon request. The Blue Men will limit the amount of direct audience interaction and keep their approach to the audience more subdued. Blue Man Group will also create calming environments in the theater’s lobby for families seeking a break from the excitement.
Tickets for children and adults are priced at a discounted rate of $36 (plus applicable fees), and $5 from each ticket sold will be donated to Autism Speaks. In addition to Orlando, Blue Man Group hosts autism-friendly shows in Boston, Chicago, Las Vegas, and New York City as part of this partnership.
