PHOTOS: Disney's Winter Summerland Miniature Golf Refurbishment
As previously announced, Disney's Winter Summerland will be closed for refurbishment through Nov. 10. Located in a beautifully-landscaped area adjacent to Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park (which is also closed for refurbishment at this time), the location includes two courses: a sand-themed course and a snow-themed course. Even though this location closed multiple times in the past to receive enhancements, this is expected to be a particularly extensive refurbishment project.
As part of this project, each of the 36 holes is in the process of receiving brand-new (premium) carpeting, refreshed props, new benches, and more. Additionally, all of the buildings located in this area will finally receive gutters (which will be very useful when storms suddenly form in the area during the summer season!). Let's take a look around the Summer Course:
Many of the holes in the Summer Course already received new carpeting when we were given the chance to take this tour:

The new carpet is fantastic. Walking on it feels (and sounds) like walking on real sand!:

Notice that one of the effects that has been missing for year might be coming back:
The hole featuring "Melty the Snowman" used to include a mist effect, as if it were melting;

The rest of the course was untouched:
