Islands of Adventure Update: Dragon Challenge Markers (PART 1)
Dragon Challenge will permanently close in less than a week, meaning that Guests visiting Islands of Adventure have just a few hours left to experience these two amazing coasters before they get replaced by a brand-new attraction (there's also a possibility that a few other additions will join the new ride). The two "dragons" are expected to disappear fairly quickly, and that's confirmed by the fact that markers are now visible in specific areas where the coaster track is currently standing.
First of all, we noticed that some of the buildings located by the exit of the park were recently repainted:
The colors of these buildings are very vivid now:
Moving on:
The sign of the Market & Export shop has been incomplete for years:
The store now offers customizable phone cases:
Here are some of the cases currently available for purchase:
Let's get back outside:
Seuss Landing:
The Lost Continent:
The new lasers definitely enhanced the not-so-exciting second pre-show of Poseidon's Fury:
Let's head to Dragon Challenge:
We never noticed it before, but umbrellas have been placed next to the Butterbeer cart:
The Team Members working at this location must be happy about this addition!:
Dragon Challenge will soon be history (we have to keep repeating this to remind you it's closing):
We will soon post a photo-tribute of the exterior of the ride (photos can't be taken past the metal detectors):
As we mentioned at the beginning, some markers can be seen around the area:
We remember spotting them before:
And we are... moving on:
Dueling Dragons/Dragon Challenge has never really been it's proper self once Universal decided to stop letting the trains duel. As much as I loved this ride(s) in it's prime, I'm not sad to see it go if Universal has no intentions on running it the way it was originally intended. My only concern will be that if what replaces it isn't as good, then I will be sad :-(
ReplyDeleteYes, Dragon Challenge..uhh, Dueling Dragons will be missed for sure!
ReplyDeletePresumably it will be replaced by another Potter offering? Hopefully it will remain an outdoor attraction... not seen any rumours, but I haven't looked to be honest!
