Minor Updates from the Walt Disney World Resort (May 2017)

The Walt Disney World Resort is an ever-changing destination that offers something new every day. This month alone there will be an amazing, new nighttime spectacular at the Magic Kingdom Park (which debuts this evening!), a brand-new show with a live orchestra at Disney's Hollywood Studios, and an entirely new theme land opening at Disney's Animal Kingdom! In addition to that, there will be plenty of minor additions and/or advisories that Walt Disney World Resort Guests should be aware of.

MAGIC KINGDOM

Jungle Cruise limited edition pin release May 11

New, limited edition pins were released yesterday in celebration of the 45th anniversary of the Jungle Cruise. The four pins are available to Guests at Plaza del Sol Caribe Bazaar in Adventureland. Guests may purchase up to two limited edition pins, per style, per release. These pins are sold on a first-come, first-served basis and will not be available via Shop Disney Parks app or the Disney Parks online store.

New guidemaps coming to Magic Kingdom Park May 12

New guidemaps are available at the Magic Kingdom Park starting TODAY (Friday, May 12). The guidemap Happily Ever After on the cover. The guidemap includes an updated English map, as well as all five translations and the Guide for Guests with Disabilities.

EPCOT

Givenchy event on May 17-21
From May 17-21, Guests visiting the Givenchy Boutique in France who purchase $200 or more in Givenchy merchandise will receive a Givenchy complimentary gift.

DISNEY'S HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS

Backlot restrooms closed for refurbishment now through mid-June

Through mid-June, the Backlot restrooms will be closed for refurbishment. During this time, signage will be displayed, directing Guests to Gonzo's Royal Flush and the Shed Restrooms (located near Star Tours).

Groot specialty cupcake now available at Disney's Hollywood Studios

The Groot cookies and cream specialty cupcake is now available at Disney's Hollywood Studios. This cupcake will be available at the following locations:

• ABC Commissary
• Catalina Eddie's
• Fairfax Fare
• Rosie's All-American Café
• Trolley Car Café

Included in the Disney Dining Plan, the specialty cupcake will be available through May 31.

Groot Sipper now available for a limited time at select locations

In celebration of the release of “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2,” select outdoor carts around Disney’s Hollywood Studios are now selling Groot Sipper Cups while supplies last. Priced at $12.75, the Groot Sipper Cup is served with a fountain beverage. Groot Sippers are available for purchase at Hollywood Popcorn, Animation Popcorn, and Great Movie Ride Popcorn.

DISNEY'S ANIMAL KINGDOM

Tiger exhibit enhancements continue through mid-May

The tiger exhibit in the Maharajah Jungle Trek is currently undergoing habitat enhancements that has extended until mid-May. During this time, the tigers will be kept backstage and the viewing areas will be inaccessible to Guests.

A second show of "Rivers of Light" will be added May 13 & 20

An additional “Rivers of Light” show will be added on Saturday, May 13 and Saturday, May 20. The show will now be offered at 9:15 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. on those days. Park hours on those days will be extended to 10 p.m. to accommodate the additional show. FastPass+ is available.

DISNEY SPRINGS

Cirque du Soleil dark May 14-28

There will be no performances of La Nouba by Cirque du Soleil May 14-28. The box office will remain open for future ticket sales 11 a.m.-9 p.m.

UNIQLO temporarily closed May 16
As part of its inventory process, UNIQLO will be closed all day on May 16 only. 

MINIATURE GOLF COURSES

Fantasia Gardens closed for private event

The Gardens and Fairway courses at Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf will be closed from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Friday, May 12, 2017, for a private event.  The courses will reopen to all Guests after the event. Disney's Winter Summerland Miniature Golf course will be open for our Guests to enjoy.
