Islands of Adventure Update: Dudley Do-Right's Refurbishment
A few days ago, we had the chance to go back to Universal's Islands of Adventure to ride a few attractions and to check out what's new since our last visit. While there are no active construction zones inside the park at this time, the existing rides continue to receive some attention. For example, Dudley Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls just reopened following a short refurbishment, and Poseidon's Fury received some great upgrades, including new lasers in the second chamber (we'll talk about them another day).

Hush-A-Bomb is still missing its trigger:
Dudley Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls was still closed for refurbishment during our visit:
Workers were examining the unloading area:
The outside portion of Reign of Kong was not being used (again):
This ride is still awesome, though:
Jurassic Park River Adventure will go down for refurbishment in just a few days:
We still can't get over the fact that Universal refuses to theme the back of Forbidden Journey:
Moving on:
As we stated at the beginning of this update, the second chamber of Poseidon's Fury has received new lasers. The room used to have lasers in the past, but they were turned off years ago. They're now back, better than ever! We will try to get some pictures during our next visit, even though it's dark inside:
Seuss Landing:
A new, themed sign directs Guests to Coca-Cola Freestyle machines:
New covers have been installed in front of the touchscreens:

Here you are some panoramic photos of this amazing theme park:
A new awning finally replaced the old one above the pathway leading to the exit of the park:
Thanks for visiting the park with us!:

What did you mean by outside portion of Kong?
ReplyDeleteLike the truck is somehow not driving outside before entering the building?
Correct. The truck went directly inside the cave with the bats, skipping completely the outdoor portion with the fire effects and the portal. The truck was basically following the route that's used when there's lightning in the area.
ReplyDeleteThe outside part is one of the best parts about that ride, do you know the reasoning for why they have been skipping it lately?
ReplyDeleteI know they skip it when there's bad weather in the area, but not sure why they have been skipping it. Maybe the doors are broken, or they are out of propane for the fires outside the door. Either way, it shouldn't be long. We were there when it had rained earlier in the day, so they had the outside closed. One of the team members told us that it takes a while to restart the attraction for the outside part. Not sure if that's true but maybe.
