Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival Returns March 1
Epcot will kick off its 90-day celebration of spring, the 2017 Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival, on Wednesday, March 1. More than 30 million blooms will blanket the park during the festival, and some new friends will join the lineup of more than 100 signature topiaries, but this Guest-favorite event offers delights for more than just the eyes. The Garden Rocks Concert Series brings the sounds of Top 40 hits from across the decades to the America Gardens Theatre stage three times Friday-Monday.
Newcomers to this year's lineup are Exposé, Simple Plan, and Berlin featuring Terri Nunn. Also for the first time, Guests can book a dining package on select nights to enjoy a meal at an Epcot table service restaurant and guaranteed seating to see their favorite Garden Rocks act.
Food is a signature element of any Epcot festival, and two new Outdoor Kitchens will feature delectable menu offerings sure to delight the tastebuds. The Berry Basket will highlight everything berries: from a lamb chop with quinoa salad and blackberry gastrique to a warm wild berry buckle with pepperberry sorbet. And Northern Bloom will feature Canadian cuisine including seared scallops with French green beans, butter potatoes, brown butter vinaigrette and applewood smoked bacon and a maple popcorn shake. Thirteen returning Outdoor Kitchens will each offer their own unique food & beverage selections.
Younger Guests are sure to find something to love as well. In addition to a newly designed Kidcot activity specifically for the Flower & Garden Festival, a new interactive play area will be located at the Florida Fresh Garden between the France and Morocco pavilions.
Since the festival was introduced back in 1993, it’s clear to see it has grown quite a bit since it began:
- 15 – the number of Outdoor Kitchens serving farm-to-table food and beverages. The Berry Basket and Northern Bloom are new additions in 2017.
- 17 – how many performers who will take to the stage during the Garden Rocks Concert Series. Not only are four of those musical acts are fresh to the Flower & Garden Festival, but shows will run Friday-Monday, adding an extra day to the concert series each week.
- 70 – there are more than 70 topiaries throughout the park, and four are new for this year.
- 90 – the number of days our Guests will have to explore the festival.
The Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival runs daily from March 1 through May 29, 2017.

I still don't understand why they decided to reverse the Epcot map. In my opinion, Future World should be on the bottom and World Showcase on the top.
ReplyDeleteLuckily I have been to Epcot about 40 times and don't need a map. I can see how others could get confused.
I believe the maps are directional now; i.e. Spaceship Earth is north, while the World Showcase is south
ReplyDeleteYes, I agree. They should have the entrance at the bottom of the map
