Reign of Kong Update: Patiently Waiting for a Soft-Opening
Just a few weeks back, one of our sources predicted that the new Reign of Kong area would soft-open before the end of April at Universal's Islands of Adventure.
While the area is still behind walls now, other sources seemingly confirmed this rumor a few days ago, creating even more excitement among the theme park community. Unfortunately, it looks like the park is encountering technical issues that prevented this attraction from opening. We are still patiently waiting...

First of all, the former Toon Lagoon-themed gate has been replaced by a new themed gate:
The new trees and plants do a great job in hiding the new themed area from Toon Lagoon:
Some of the walls did come down, revealing one of the new light fixtures and a themed bench:
Here's the new bench:
Speakers are embedded in the fake rockwork:
Here you are a couple of photos showing the wall-free area:
The countdown has begun:
The entire area will undoubtedly become one of the most beautiful at night:
The King Kong arch:
The rest of the area looks ready:
Here you are some photos showing the other side of the walls:
This tent is expected to offer King Kong-themed merchandise:
Moving on:

ReplyDeleteAny word if there's an Express Pass line?
Express? Why do you want to skip the queue? Its going to be immersive and spooky and surely entertaining.

ReplyDeleteUhh... to not have to wait an hour in line?
The Express Pass line queue likely will be similar to the regular line. We won't know for sure until we know more about the ride, or until we know if there's gonna be an Express Pass line, hence the original question.
So, anybody helpful able to answer the question?

ReplyDeleteI doubt you will have to wait in line too long. The ride vehicles themselves can fit up to 72 people at a time.
Just wait for someone to post a POV, watch it on a big screen while sitting in a rocker and voila ! No standing in line!
ReplyDeleteThe Bench and sign looks very cool and old
ReplyDeleteI am praying Kong will be opening by 16th may!!!!super excited for this:-)
ReplyDeleteAnyone know what date it open?
