Islands of Adventure Update: Superhero Island Construction
The west side of Islands of Adventure is still home to plenty of temporary walls, as the refurbishment of The Incredible Hulk Coaster continues and the Reign of Kong themed area slowly takes shape between Toon lagoon and Jurassic Park.
Since we already covered the construction work taking place in the kingdom of King Kong, this afternoon we will focus on Marvel Superhero Island to see what has changed since the last time we were able to visit the park. Enjoy the photos!

from "Summer 2016" to "2016"
ReplyDeleteI hope this doesn't mean it's been delayed
I've checked my pics and as far back as last September the large signs on Hulk have said "Returns 2016" not mentioning anything about summer.
ReplyDeleteor maybe it's coming sooner than summer

@2nd Anonymous: Very interesting. I was sure the sign stated summer 2016 at one point. I will have to go back and check.
ReplyDeleteHow different will the "feel" of the new Hulk Coaster be from it's first incarnation ?
ReplyDeleteWill it spawn comments such as " It's good but, of course, I rode the original coaster " ?
or " In my day the Hulk was really something "
We'll soon find out.
Is it the same layout / ride as the previous Hulk? Or are there different sections now?
ReplyDelete@2nd Anonymous: I recall seeing "Summer 2016" as well. And wasn't the coaster still up last September?
ReplyDeleteThe coaster was in the process of being dismantled in September. Last day was September 7. Walls went up on September 8th. Later that month and into October the signs began appearing on the walls. There were two large Hulk cutouts that both said Returns 2016. One was along the main walkway and the other was across from the bathrooms.
Deletedude says "Summer 2016"

The blog post says Summer 2016 but the large sign on the walls with the Hulk cutout has always said Returns 2016.
ReplyDeleteYes, it looks like the signs always said "returns 2016." Thanks for the confirmation.
ReplyDeleteThe World of Universal Blog says the Hulk will return Late Summer.
