I really don't understand why people are flipping out about this. You could always get married in MK park since Disney Fairytale Weddings started. It used to be by the swan boat landing in the rose garden. Then it was ,over to the train station when hub construction began. Now they repackaged the ceremony option near the castle and put a huge price tag on it. Nothing really new here. At least now they still give you yhe option of getting married at the train station.
ReplyDeleteAlso, you can get married at the other parks too. Epcot is the most popular because the ceremony venue is not as much as the MK and you have world showcase to yourself (almost - you know the occasional clean-up cast member, etc) and you are near the Boardwalk area which has many reception venues. Plus Epcot has several venues (most of the world showcase pavilions).
Anyways, the Disney Bride community is just amazed how people are so surprised by this when it really was always something available. Just hub construction is complete and they moved the swan boat landing ceremonies to this location and tacked on a new, outrageous price tag making it seem brand new!
I agree that the outrage is a bit silly. I can't see how any of this would negatively affect a park guest in any way. Ceremonies are only held in the mornings. I can't imagine anyone arriving for rope drop just so they can hang out in the East Garden of the hub.
