Flame Tree Barbecue Maintenance Begins February 22
Work around the Flame Tree Barbecue restaurant (located on Discovery Island at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park) is scheduled to begin after park close on Sunday, February 21. During that time, the pathway leading from Discovery Island to DinoLand U.S.A. will be temporarily reduced, causing minor changes in the flow of Guests. As a reminder, the Guest restrooms in the area (which can be found near the new open-air stage) will remain open during this work.
As part of this plan, the following work will occur:
- A planter in front of the Discovery Island restrooms near Flame Tree Barbecue is being removed, and a walkway will take its place. This will prove to be very useful when Guests will be exiting the park after each showing of the new Rivers of Light nighttime show;
- A construction wall will go on the site of the existing restroom walkway;
- Isle of Java will be closed during the work due to sightline issues related to the construction wall.
The completion date for this project has not been announced yet. We will continue to keep you updated.
Flame Tree will remain open, though, right?!
