Wilderness Lodge Update: Hidden Springs Pool Disappears

Disney's Wilderness Lodge has always been our favorite resort. The grandeur of the lobby associated with a warm atmosphere created by the wooden furniture and the multiple fireplaces located throughout the structure create an immersive experience that has very few rivals. Some things are about to change, though.
In the past months, we shared with our Readers some advisories about closures taking place around the resort. Let's take a look at what has changed so far.

This amazing hotel is located near the Magic Kingdom Park but feels isolated from the rest of the world:

A TV screen now displays wait times for the next available buses going to the parks and Disney Springs:

The Walt Disney World Marathon took place yesterday morning. Some signs were still visible:

The beauty an majesty of lobby of this resort never ceases to amaze us:

As previously reported, some elevators are currently unavailable:

While passing by the store, we noticed some great Wilderness Lodge-themed t-shirts:

There's even a Country Bear Jamboree t-shirt:

Guests congratulated runners by signing this board:

Walking around the rest of the resort:

The Territory Lounge is still offering coffee and pastries during the morning:

Runner boxes were available at Roaring Fork:

Some areas of the resort are behind scaffolding:

Guests can still rent bikes near the resort's arcade:

Temporary walls surround the former Hidden Springs pool area:

Here's all that remains of the old pool. You have no idea how much this hurts us:

The Sturdy Branches Health Club is still open:

  1. While WL is a gorgeous resort, I know a few DVC owners who chose VWL as their home resort specifically for that pool. No other pool on property was as welcoming, and yet shielded from the eyes of resort on-lookers. We can only hope that Disney makes the new pool feel as secluded and private as the old Hidden Springs pool. And brings back the bubbling springs.
