Rafiki's Planet Watch Testing a New Animal Experience

The Cast Members of Rafiki’s Planet Watch (the remote themed area located at Disney's Animal Kingdom) are currently testing a potential new experience at Affection Section through December 19. Each day at 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., Guests can watch animals such as goats, kunekune pigs, and sheep voluntarily take part in displays of agility as part of an enrichment experience (note that this may or may not become part of the park's regular entertainment offerings).

As part of this test, an animal keeper will accompany one of the animals through a series of agility exercises, training the animal through positive reinforcement to complete an exercise. At the same time, another keeper will talk to Guests about the activity and why this form of enrichment is important for stimulating the minds of the animals and encouraging physical activity.
