Overview of New "Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple" Show
For years, younglings have summoned their bravery to master the skills of the Jedi at Disney Parks around the world. The original “Jedi Training Academy” invited those aspiring Padawans to learn to wield lightsabers and face the dark side. As the saga continues to evolve, both Disneyland Resort California and the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida recently introduced an enhanced take on the experience by opening the new “Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple.”
In this new story, the Galactic Empire has driven the Jedi to the most distant corners of the galaxy. In order to train the younglings, a Jedi and apprentice, Vanzell and Nedriss, must secretly travel to the site of an ancient Jedi temple.
As told in the “Star Wars” films, as well as the “Star Wars Rebels” animated series, young hopefuls must pass a trial by entering a Jedi temple and facing their fears to prove they have what it takes to be a true Jedi. The temple allows the Jedi’s fears to manifest in the form of visions of powerful Sith and other villains from the “Star Wars” galaxy.
During “Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple,” as the younglings help to reveal the temple, their fears materialize in the form of Darth Vader and the Seventh Sister, a Jedi-hunting Inquisitor from “Star Wars Rebels.” Vanzell and Nedriss instruct the children to use their lightsabers to defeat their fears.
In an exciting finale, the headstrong Nedriss faces off with her greatest fear, the agile Sith Lord Darth Maul. The younglings’ new skills and courage are also put to a final test.
The new “Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple” debuted December 1, 2015 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. A similar version of the show opened at Disneyland Park on December 8, 2015.
