"Reign of Kong" Construction Update: November 18, 2015

Earlier today, we paid a quick visit to Universal's Islands of Adventure to take a look around the park and to specifically check the progress that has been done in the past few days in the future Reign of Kong themed area of the park.
While it seems like the majority of the work on the exterior of the attraction has almost been completed, plenty of new details continue to be added every week. We just have to take an even closer look around this large construction zone...

First of all, a new pole showed up next to the Toon Lagoon gate:

The faux rockwork continues to be painted:

Getting closer to the area:

The land's future entrance:

New tarps have been installed nearby:

The rockwork has been extended to include the castle-like structure:

Let's take a peek behind the walls:

A look at the area from above:

Themed lighting:

Notice the themed backdrop:

A closer look at the "castle" walls:

A portion of the building is still mostly un-themed:

And that is all for now. Before concluding, remember to like us on our official Facebook page and follow us on Twitter for live updates from the parks. 1. For a while there, it looked like they weren't doing as much (from our perspective). They went from Universal speed to Disney speed.
Good to see them pick up the pace now.

  2. @Anonymous It's because work inside the building has been ramped up. The majority of the work is taking place inside, not outside.

  3. @Anonymous We must remember that Skull Island is just part of this project; The ride itself has probably been their priority up until now.
