New Morning Rope Drop Procedure at Hollywood Studios
Similarly to what Epcot started doing just a few weeks ago, Disney’s Hollywood Studios recently began a regular morning rope drop that allows Guests to enter some areas of the park 30 minutes before the scheduled opening time.
Guests will be allowed through the touch points and up to the rope starting at 8:30 a.m., and select merchandise and food & beverage locations up to the rope will be open to accommodate Guest needs (including the Starbucks location).

Here is the regular rope drop schedule (subject to change at the discretion of the management team):
- 7:45 a.m. - Guests with breakfast reservations will be allowed to enter the Park;
- 8:30 a.m. - Guests will be allowed through the touch points up to the rope, which will be located near 50’s Prime Time Café, Min and Bill’s Dockside Diner, and Hollywood Boulevard. Mickey’s of Hollywood, Trolley Car Café, and the Guest Relations Lobby will open to Guests;
- 8:45 a.m. - The opening spiel will play and Guests will be allowed into the rest of the Park. Attraction Cast Members will be at the ropes to escort Guests to popular attractions.
The following map highlights the areas that will open to all Guests starting from 8:30 a.m.:
As a reminder, Extra Magic Hour mornings will NOT have a rope drop (this applies to all parks), as the park will already be open to Disney Resort Guests an hour before the park opens to all other Guests.
On mornings with EMH, will the rope drop still happen just an hour early or will they keep guests out of the park until 8am when EMH start?
ReplyDeleteI have breakfast at Be Our Guest at 8:25 on an EMH morning (opening at 8am), what time can I enter the park? Before 8am or do I need to wait until EMH start?
