Disney Movie Artists Visit the Art of Animation Resort
As some may know, Disney’s Art of Animation Resort is home to the Storyboard Chandelier, which hangs in the front lobby of the resort. This magnificent light fixture is home to original images portrayed on glass plates from the beloved movies "Cars," "The Little Mermaid," "Finding Nemo," and "The Lion King," all of which are featured at the resort. The hotel's cast has been collecting signatures from the artists who worked on these movies to add to this amazing chandelier.
Just a few days ago, the resort welcomed two artists from Pixar Animation Studios to sign the chandelier and forever leave their mark at the resort dedicated to the art of animation. Here's a little bit about them:
- Josh Cooley – A story artist at Pixar Animation Studios. He served as a storyboard artist for "The Incredibles," "Cars," "Ratatouille," "Up," "Cars 2," and he also served as an additional story supervisor on "Cars 2." He wrote and directed the short film, "George and A.J.," and also was the story editor of the "Toy Story Toons" short, "Small Fry." He performed the voice of Omega in "Up," Roger in the Cars Toons: "Mater's Tall Tales" short, Moon Mater, the cashier and Lizard Wizard in "Small Fry," Vroomaroundus Bugus in the Cars Toons: "Tales from Radiator Springs" short, Bugged, and Jangles the Clown in "Inside Out."
- Robert L. Baird – A screenwriter who has worked on several Disney animated films. Some of Rob’s credits include screenplay for "Big Hero 6," screenplay and story for "Monsters University," additional story material for "Meet the Robinsons," "Chicken Little," "Monsters Inc.," and "Cars."
Stay tuned, as many more animators who worked on classic Disney films will visit the resort in the future!
