Merlin Entertainments Hiring 40 New LEGO Model Builders
Merlin Entertainments continues its expansion in Central Florida by hiring more than 40 talented men and women who will get “paid to play” as full-time LEGO Model Builders for "Merlin Magic Making." This very creative branch of Merlin Entertainments designs and delivers attractions, hotels and other major projects around the globe. The hiring announcement was made on August 25, following the assessment of 30 LEGO Model Designer candidates at LEGOLAND Florida.
Each candidate completed building tests to showcase their talents and creativity; seven will be chosen for their ultimate dream job. Once hiring is complete, the seven LEGO Model Designers, as well as 40 new LEGO Model Builders, will work together at a hub for Merlin Magic Making in Lake Wales. The 40 LEGO Model Builder positions will be posted on LEGOLAND.com/jobs and MerlinCareers.com.
“We welcome and encourage candidates with diverse backgrounds to apply. I believe that the best candidate is one who has a passion to inspire creativity in others. After all, at LEGOLAND Resorts and LEGOLAND Discovery Centers, the kid is the customer,” said Rob Griffin, US LEGO Production Manager.
Scheduled to be fully operational by fall, this will be the sixth team of its kind in the world. It will support the ever-expanding LEGOLAND Resorts and LEGOLAND Discovery Centers around the globe. This year, Merlin Entertainments expanded in Central Florida with the addition of the new LEGOLAND Hotel and the new Heartlake City themed area at LEGOLAND Florida Resort, and the grand opening of the Orlando Eye, Madame Tussauds Orlando, and the SEA LIFE Orlando Aquarium.
