Pedestrian Bridge Installation Near Downtown Disney

Two pedestrian bridges are in the process of being installed in the Downtown Disney area that will provide Guests a safer way to cross Buena Vista Drive. The second section of the bridge near Hotel Plaza Boulevard will be installed on the night of May 19 into the morning of May 20 and extend from the Marketplace area to Hotel Plaza Boulevard. As a result, the intersection of Buena Vista Drive and Hotel Plaza Boulevard will be closed from midnight to 7:00 a.m.

During these nights, drivers should follow roadway signs, detours, and allow for extra travel time or take an alternate route. Walt Disney World bus transportation will continue to run during regular operating hours. Here is a map showing the roads that will be temporarily closed during the night:

Additional work will be done on the bridge after installation that will require more road closures. Details will be shared before the work begins in June. The bridge will be fully operational by late summer.
