Animal Kingdom Update: New Pathway in Asia (PART 3)

Welcome to part 3 of our latest Animal Kingdom photo-report, OTPN Readers. Click on this link to go back to PART 2 of this construction update.
After having taken a look around Africa (including the new Harambe Theater District and the Marketplace), it's now time to explore Asia and DinoLand U.S.A. As you will see, work continues to take place around the Discovery River, and new pathways will soon be opening in Asia. Enjoy the rest of this update:

This will be the end of the new pathway in Asia:

By the way, we noticed some minor additions around Kali River Rapids' exit.

These will surely discourage Guests to sit on the edge of the bridge:

New concrete was recently poured in this area:

  3. The "historic" Harambe Theater was a great detail on that banner, and the massive work/pipes for Rivers of light, I am so excited to see this show come together.... It is going to be done so well... and a new must do evening on the trip.

  4. Will their be seats for the new River of Lights show? Or just grass areas to sit.

  5. Great report. Difficult areas to work in.

No, we don't need seats for the river show. No reason to turn what has been a very natural and real looking river bank area into a permanent theater.

  6. I doubt we will get seats or grass. It looks almost like a copy of the World of Color viewing area already.

Going to be a bunch of cement in a tier system that gets closer to the lake...not higher up to block the wonderful view of the mountain.

For those that have not done World of Color yet, it is still currently a "ticketed" show meaning you must get a Fast Pass to get a color section. It is standing room only and they are VERY, VERY strict about it. You are NOT allowed to sit down. They pack a ton of people into the area. You need to arrive early to get a front row spot in any of the tiers so you have a clear view.

The wonderful thing about water shows is they don't take long to reset and have a low cost per show allowing Disney to put on the show multiple times each night. During busy times and right after it started, World of Color ran 3 or 4 times a night.

  7. Are they gonna have to close Everest or any other rides during the Rivers of Light show?

  8. The more effort they put into this park, and the more wonderful it becomes, the more obviously an eyesore dinorama is. The are tweaking and improving every area of the park EXCEPT dinorama... maybe we will be lucky and that will be the next phase of the redo...eliminate it.
