Disney "Wild About Safety" Programs at Walt Disney World

Guests staying at any of the on-site hotels of the Walt Disney World Resort can now view the entire series of the Disney Wild About Safety animated videos on Channel 81 on their in-room televisions. A total of eight award-winning videos will rotate on a continuous loop. Each video is approximately twelve minutes in length and covers many different topics such as water, transportation, health, and environmental safety. These same videos can also be purchased online.

Introduced in 2003, Disney Wild About Safety is a global program and an integral part of the Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Guest experience. The program features Timon and Pumbaa from The Lion King movie as official “spokes-characters” on a mission to spread important safety messages to Guests.

By demonstrating the potential consequences of unsafe behavior, Timon and Pumbaa show Guests how to stay safe while on vacation, at home, and in their community through a series of illustrations in tip cards, activity books, and videos. Underwriters Laboratories (UL), known worldwide for its not-for-profit safety testing and certifi­cation, is the founding sponsor of the Disney Wild About Safety program.
