New Walkway and Waterview Park Open at Pleasure Island
As Downtown Disney continues its multi-year transformation into Disney Springs, significant progress is being made on its first phase known as The Landing. Starting from now, Guests can take a stroll along a new walkway that is now open in a section between Portobello and Paradiso 37. This section gives Guests a glimpse of what’s to come with views of The Landing’s inspired architecture featuring brick buildings with ornate details.
Here you are some photos of this new area. Notice all the details that can be seen on the ground and the buildings. Pleasure Island will look very different when it will officially become The Landing:
Guests may also notice the beautiful Waterview Park that features a small amphitheater near the water where entertainment acts will perform throughout the day and night:
Set along the waterfront, The Landing will be home to unique boutique shops and memorable dining experiences including Morimoto Asia and The BOATHOUSE, opening in spring/summer 2015, along with many more experiences that will be shared in the coming months.
By the end of November, an additional section of the walkway will open to provide direct access to the West Side. As always, we will keep you up-to-date in regards to the status of this and other projects.
