Magic Kingdom Hub Construction Update (Nov. 16, 2014)
Plenty of progress has been done around the central hub of the Magic Kingdom Park since our last visit. Many of the small, themed walls that will soon surround new gardens and fountains are now almost show-ready, and other miscellaneous work continues to be done in many sections of this area of the park. Come along with us, and check out the current status of the work being done. The park's central hub will look beautiful once the project is completed:
Another busy day:
Let's start by taking a look at the west side of the hub, like we always do:
Pipes:
Notice the new brown speaker poles:
Working on the moat:
Notice the new concrete poured near the end of the new bridge:
Moving clockwise around the area:
Here we get a better look at the new walls:
There are columns everywhere:
Moving on to the east side of the hub:
The second bridge:
More work being done on the moat:
Nothing is yet happening in the former location of the Swan Boats dock:
Work also continues on the new Main Street U.S.A. bypass:
Time to leave:
And that is all for now. Before concluding, remember to like us on our official Facebook page and follow us on Twitter for live updates from the parks. Any idea when this will be completed?
ReplyDeleteAt the speed that Disney moves, probably sometime in 2019.
ReplyDeleteWhy are the wreaths on Main Street so ugly and out of scale? They couldn't of come up with a better replacement for the fantastic garland?
ReplyDelete@ Anon, I agree they're not attractive, but what would you consider "in scale" be?
ReplyDeleteAt night with everything lit up they seem to look okay, but during the day they stand out like sore thumbs. I wonder, maybe a better replacement would have been to do nothing.
Looking great! Btw, I love the new garland decor. Its clean and less cluttered as previous years. It also doesn't block the view of the castle in photos.
ReplyDeleteHad to make room in the middle for the Festival parade .. kinda have a big dragon in it now :)
ReplyDeleteI can't believe just how long this is taking, with very little progress visible. I know there's probably more going on than we can see, but it seems whenever phots are shown there are never any workmen around actually doing anything!!!!
ReplyDeleteDisney doesn't want you to hear the working going on so they work at night
