Cotton-Top Tamarins Return to Discovery Island

Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park Guests are finally able to see once again the cotton-top tamarins on Discovery Island. The cotton-top tamarins were moved backstage a few weeks ago to prepare for a brand-new enclosure, located across from the Creature Comforts shop. The new home features a pair of cotton-top tamarins called Gemma and Draco. Cotton-top tamarins are a favorite at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park.

Guests can learn all about the cotton-top tamarins in the Habitat Habit! section of Rafiki’s Planet Watch, and they can observe observe the primate’s social behaviors along the outdoor discovery trail.

On a related note, Cotton-top tamarin cupcakes are available at Kusafiri Bakery in Africa (you are not surprised, are you?). This chocolate cupcake includes a buttercream topping and a white chocolate tamarin face. Guests can also buy eco-mochilas, traditional Colombian bags weaved from recycled plastic. The bags are available at Rafiki's Planet Watch, and help Colombian communities protect the primate's habitats.
