Work on New I-4 Ramp to Disney Springs Garage Begins
As part of the largest expansion in the history of Downtown Disney, the surrounding roadways are being modified to support the additional number of vehicles that will be traveling in the area. A notable part of the expansion includes the construction of an overpass bridge that will connect to an I-4 interchange ramp, offering direct access from the interstate into the Disney Springs West parking garage. Work is slated to begin August 18, including pile driving to set the foundation for the structures.
Pile driving is the construction process where support beams that will hold the foundation of the ramp and bridge structures are drilled into the ground. This work will take place in two different areas – one near the corner of the West parking garage and Team Disney, and the other by the bridge between Bonnet Creek Parkway and Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.
The pile driving is expected to last for approximately three months and is scheduled for daytime hours to minimize Guest impacts. The process will involve noise that may be heard by Downtown Disney Guests, Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park Guests, and Guests at Disney’s Old Key West Resort.
Thank you for your patience and understanding during this process. This is an important part of the Disney Springs expansion that will ultimately lead to incredible infrastructure to help Guests have an even better experience visiting the area.
