How MyMagic+ Services Work During Hard-Ticket Events

The Walt Disney World Resort has many hard-ticket events coming up, the newest one being Harambe Nights at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Guests visiting the parks during those special events may begin wondering about how they can engage in MyMagic+ during these events. This post will help to do just that. First of all, Guests may link their special-event tickets in My Disney Experience. Once linked, Guests can use their MagicBands to enter the park for the special event.

If Guests enter the theme park with other admission media prior to 4:00 p.m., they will be required to present their special-event admission media (ticket or MagicBand) later in the day at a designated location inside the park to receive a special-event wristband. All attendees are required to wear an event wristband during the special event. Disney FastPass+ service is not available during special events.

Therefore, during special events, Guests can use their MagicBands in a few ways:
  • Touch to Pay – If you are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel and established charging privileges during check-in, you can use your MagicBand to pay for most merchandise and food and beverage purchases.
  • Disney PhotoPass Service and Memory Maker – You can associate your Disney PhotoPass photos to your My Disney Experience account by touching a MagicBand to a device the photographer uses.
