Disney Springs Project Update (June 22-30, 2014)
The Downtown Disney area is currently a mess. A parking spot near the restaurants and shops is absolutely impossible to find any day after 11 a.m. It is also extremely crowded during the late afternoon and evening hours. All of this is happening due to the ongoing Disney Springs project, which will essentially double the amount of restaurants, shops, and attractions in the area. It has to get ugly before it gets better, right? Let's see what is currently taking place around the area.
Here is a snapshot of several projects underway this week at the Downtown Disney Area:
Quick updates:
- The Pleasure Island Bus Loop is now closed
- Taxis are only available at the West Side and Marketplace locations
Recent openings:
- Marketplace Co-Op
- Beverage tent near Pin Traders

Recent closures:
- Ring Stage and bar (due to AMC Theaters and Planet Hollywood hardscape work)
- West Side Joffrey’s (closed temporarily)
