Downtown Disney: Disney Springs Project News (May 18-24)
As usual, we are going to share with you a quick snapshot of several projects that are currently underway this week at the Downtown Disney Area as part of the Disney Springs transformation. In fact, a lot of new quick-service locations opened around Downtown Disney just a few days ago (one of them, the Marketplace Starbucks, actually opened today), and many more new restaurants and stores will open soon. Take a peek a peek at what's going on at the moment:
New work:
- The new Wetzel’s Pretzels and Häagen-Dazs kiosks are NOW OPEN, located between DisneyQuest Indoor Interactive Theme Park and Cirque du Soleil.
- The Starbucks kiosk in the Marketplace officially opened TODAY (May 19, 2014).
- The Marketplace archway at Entrance 1 was removed due to the Buena Vista Drive expansion work.
In progress:
- The Marketplace bus loop is closed from midnight to noon for enhancements. Guests are now advised to use Pleasure Island bus loop prior to noon.
- Buena Vista Drive roadwork is underway.
- Work continues on the new wall configuration at the Lilly Pad near Fulton’s Crab House and Portobello to prepare for The Landing. The Portobello front patio isn’t accessible, as part of this project. This work is expected to be complete this summer.
- Modifications in lots E, F and G continue with pedestrian and vehicle passage along a modified route.
- Work continues on phase 1 of a series of elevated spaces along the West Side promenade.
- Watercraft routes have temporarily changed as work on the Marketplace Causeway continues.
- Saratoga Bridge construction continues.
Thank your for your attention. We will personally take a look around Downtown Disney in the next few days.
